VALERIE ALBERTO

Attorney Valerie Alberto has dedicated her entire professional career to public service. 

 

Prior to joining Haughton, Dubose & Nezami, she was a Geography teacher at a public high school. In law school, she clerked for Lone Star Legal Aid. Subsequently, she served as an Attorney Advisor for the Social Security Administration for over a decade, advising Administrative Law Judges in a disability hearing office, drafting Title II and Title XVI cases and researching legally complex issues. She received performance awards nearly every year during her tenure, completed a detail as Supervisory Attorney and was promoted to Senior Attorney Advisor.  She has done volunteer work for the Innocence Project.

 

She attended the University of California at Berkeley and the University of St. Thomas for undergrad, obtaining a Bachelor’s of Arts in History (magna cum laude). She earned a Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law in 2011.
